It was created as an exploration and production company with the objective to acquire and operate oil and gas fields worldwide.
Job descriptionThe Country Manager is the top position of the JV, and is responsible for all JV operations and functions. The position is Myanmar based or a 60/20 rotation. Significant time is expected to be spent in the field locations of Yenangyaung and Chauk. In addition, regular travel to Nay Pyi Taw to interact with the Government bodies is required. This is the senior position located in Myanmar as the owners are not based in Myanmar.
The Country Manager is accountable for the daily operation of the JV, as well as planning for future petroleum operations.
The Country Manager is also the primary interface with Government Ministries and officials, and represents the JV to the Government and suppliers.
RequirementsResponsibilities:
1. Manage the JV day to day activities and affairs.
2. Accountable for ensuring safe and environmentally acceptable operations and practices, and for ensuring security.
3. Manage and be fully responsible for the engineering aspects of the current and future field development planning and execution.
4. Manage field production teams to ensure that field production rates achieve their potential and that operating costs are controlled within budget.
5. Represent the JV with the Government.
6. Prepare long range plans for the JV.
7. Prepare annual work programs and budgets for the JV.
8. Work with the owners to obtain required approval for strategy, work programs and budgets as per the JOA and approval matrix.
9. Control procurement and financial transactions.
10. Ensure all regulatory requirements and filings are made and obtained in a timely manner.
11. Implement Goldpetrol policies and practices.
12. Recommend new/revised policies to the owners.
13. Develop the workforce to enhance their skills and capabilities.
14. Prepare and conduct JTC and JMC as per IPR Contracts.
