Location: Saudi Arabia English Instructional Design & Curriculum Development Specialist
Saudi Aramco's Training & Career Development Organization is seeking an English Instructional Design & Curriculum Development Specialist to work in the Academic Curriculum & Testing Unit. This unit develops academic instructional materials and tests in English, math, science, and clerical to be used in fifteen kingdom-wide industrial training centers that offer training to high school graduates who join a two-year training program as non-employees before they are offered employment upon program completion. The candidate to this position will both develop and direct the development of English language instructional materials and tests for employees and non-employees who will assume industrial, operator, craft, and clerical jobs in an oil-producing company. The candidate might be required to lead a curriculum development project where he directs the work of a team consisting of 3-6 analysts or be part of such a team under the direction of a Senior Analyst.
Minimum Yrs. Exp. Required: 8 years in instructional design and curriculum and test development Minimum Required Degree: B.A. - preferably M.A. Major: English (ESL or EFL), English Education, English Syllabus Development, EnglishEducational Media/Technology
Specific Experience Required: To carry out the required daily work, duties, and tasks, the candidate should have 1. Specialized professional experience in: English language instructional design and curriculum and test development for adults; e-learning and blended learning delivery options, integration of technology for instructional delivery, teaching methods and techniques with special emphasis on learner-centered activities. 2. Strong experience in educational testing and measurement and learner performance assessment 3. Strong background in educational psychology and evaluation methodology 4. Excellent analysis skills, decision-making skills, presentation skills, project management skills, and interpersonal skills. 5. Excellent computer skills in MS Office and working skills in authoring programs such as Articulate Presenter, Captivate, etc. 6. Native-speaker command of oral and written English and strong editing skills
Primary day to day duties: 1. Provides professional consultation and high-level expertise to T&CD management on proposed programs, policy changes, and evaluation of current activities. 2. Serves as team leader and directs the development and execution of one or more major Program Development Division (PDD) and corporate quality assurance projects in assigned areas. 3. Leads curriculum and test development projects. 4. Provides professional expertise and consultation for projects controlled by Analysts II and III and provides advice to Unit Supervisor and/or Superintendent on policy development, evaluation of programs, and new developments in the training field. 5. Monitors contract activity for assigned projects. May prepare technical scope of work and participate in technical bid evaluation and contract negotiation. Maintains quality control for contracted services and recommends on contractor evaluations. 6. Prepares and/or gives presentations for up to corporate-level briefings (T&CD management, etc.). 7. Researches, analyzes, and writes studies, reports, and proposals relating to future training development and evaluation programs. 8. Keeps current with and assures that subordinates are aware of developments in Saudi Aramco training trends. 9. Initiates, promote, and deploy the integration of technology in T&CD programs and the implementation of e-learning and blended learning. 10. Maintains professional contacts with management level internal and external customers.
