Location: Malaysia BHP Billiton Shared Services Centres perform leveraged, transactional activities at central locations, allowing our diverse businesses around the world to benefit from cost and time efficiencies. The Kuala Lumpur centre will function predominantly as a transactional back-office facility for BHP Billiton’s global operations providing HR Payroll, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Card Services, Cash Accounting, Inter-company Accounting and Sundry Receivables services, running on SAP. The aim of this new centre is to be world class through offering the right people outstanding development opportunities.

THINK PURPOSE
The primary focus of this role is to lead the Global Payment Services Function, with operational staff in Adelaide, Kuala Lumpur, Santiago and Houston, ensuring effective delivery of Accounts Payable and Card Services to all BHP Billiton customers globally.
THINK POSITION
As Global Operations Manager, Supply Payment Services you will lead the capture of strategic advantage across all aspects of the payment services process through leveraging scale, intelligence, innovation and collaboration.
In the role of Global Operations Manager, Supply Payment Services, your immediate challenge will be to provide leadership in our journey to establish the new Kuala Lumpur Shared Services Centre where this position will be based. This will then lead to the integration over many years of new customers onto our new operating platform, 1SAP and into the Kuala Lumpur operating environment.
Your ongoing core accountabilities will also include the management of external benchmarking which includes:
• The relentless pursuit of excellence and customer satisfaction through market intelligence regarding what the “best companies in the world” practice in Payment Services;
• Ongoing communication and liaison with global supply leaders, VP Supply Services, and other key business executives including Asset Presidents and other cross-functional leaders; and
• Ensuring that customer satisfaction from key stakeholders is achieved.
You will constantly strive for and foster a culture of simplicity, accountability and effectiveness whilst continuously improving internal controls and identifying risks.
Critical to your success in this role will be your high level influencing skills, coupled with presence, assertiveness and personality to make an impact with asset customers.
Building and developing strong relationships with your key stakeholders will be an integral part of this role. Your ability to maintain an ongoing, constructive dialogue with Global Supply Managers, Supplier Executives and key business executives and management is critical.
A skilled change manager, with strong negotiating competence and sound understanding of innovative commercial techniques, you will ensure the efficient formulation of a sustainable Payment Service function to deliver value to the organisation.
Through your leadership and support you will be accountable for ensuring the function has highly capable and motivated staff, integrated information technology and appropriate performance management and measurement.
Frequent international travel can be anticipated.
THINK REQUIREMENTS
You will have proven extensive experience in a senior leadership role with a demonstrated record of success in leading large global teams. Ideally this will be complemented by extensive commercial expertise and prior procurement/supply/ sourcing management experience. Your abilities to effectively lead a high calibre team through change management with confidence are coupled with your exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that bring out the best in others through effective guidance and coaching.
Also required is an appropriate undergraduate degree with a postgraduate qualification highly regarded. The ability to work effectively cross-culturally would also be considered an advantage.
