POSITION SYNOPSIS

Keep reading… The Global Operations team has an exciting opportunity for inspired individuals focused on their professional development. In this role you will ensure Project / Fixed Asset accounting activities are performed in a timely and efficient manner and in accordance with BHP policies and Accounting Standards. In addition you will provide assistance and contribute to the Global Operations team in support of various BHPB businesses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Collation, input, review and analysis of project / fixed asset information and transactional data, in compliance with accounting standards and taxation requirements
* Maintenance of Fixed Assets within SAP.
* Support the continuous update and maintenance of procedure documentation
* Processing of month-end Depreciation (Units of Production and straight-line methods).
* Maintain integrity of fixed asset ledger.
* Other accounting & administrative tasks, including: monthly and quarterly account reconciliation’s and sundry journal entries
* Identify process improvement opportunities
* Participate in process improvement activities
* Contribute to and support global process standardization and continuous improvement
* Assist with special projects, analyses and query resolution as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS
* Tertiary qualifications in accounting with fixed asset experience desired
* Microsoft Office products with advanced Excel expertise
* Experience in Financial Accounting systems/software (SAP FI/CO modules desirable)
* Tax accounting knowledge helpful
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills required
* Customer focused individual with patience to learn reporting applications
* 2 years accounting experience
