BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is Australia’s largest coal miner and exporter, and the world’s largest supplier to the seaborne coking coal market. With nine mines and a port in Central Queensland, the company is experiencing a major expansion phase, with its outstanding resource base and first class infrastructure assets providing a strong foundation on which to grow and strengthen the business.
Saraji is a large open cut coal operation which utilises a fleet of draglines and truck/shovel fleets to expose, haul and produce 7.5M tonnes of export hard coking coal with expansion plans to increase production output to +8M tonnes per annum. Employees reside in the nearby township of Dysart, a modern, well-equipped township, with all facilities, located 250km from Mackay and the Whitsunday Coast.
Saraji Mine has a vacancy for an Administration Assistant to support the operation in achieving its safety and business goals by providing administrative support and coordination for the Mining Manager and the Mining team.
The successful applicant will have excellent presentation and communication skills and be an enthusiastic self-starter who is interested in working in a busy and fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Provide administrative assistance to predominantly the Mining Department, which includes monthly reporting, AMEX statement reconciliation etc. (including routine clerical functions such as filing, typing, photocopying, faxing, etc.)
* Ensure that training is managed and maintained in an efficient manner to include the coordination and input of training records for the mining department
* Co-ordinating and compiling a variety of reports and presentation material
* Assist and support Systems Administration (e.g. First Priority, Document Control) for Mining Department
* Assist in the follow up and completion of action items arising from site meetings such as toolbox talks, incident reports, State of the Nation and Safety Meetings through using FPE as a tool to identify and track those items
Qualifications/Experience:
* Demonstrated competence with the Microsoft Office Package including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook Express (Calender), PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher etc.
* Outstanding self-organisation skills and ability to prioritise and multitask.
* Superior presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
* A strong internal/external customer focus.
* Previous experience with quality assurance systems and business systems management (i.e. GSAP) is a distinct advantage.
