POSITION SYNOPSIS

To provide Tax Accounting services and support to the US, Canada, and UK in conjunction with the Corporate Tax group. Work within a team environment to ensure accurate monthly reporting of tax accounts, in accordance with BHP Billiton policies and Accounting Standards.

REQUIREMENTS

* Perform month end calculation & processing of tax entries
* Preparation of Deferred Tax Proofs for US, Canada & UK
* Work with Corporate Tax Group on return to provision reconciliations and Deferred Tax Proof review
* Book yearly tax settlements
* Assist with Tax Audits
* Prepare monthly Value Added Tax return for UK assets
* Liaise with CSGs during monthly tax reviews and yearly stewardship reviews as required
* Initiate and participate in process improvement activities
* Assist with ad hoc query resolution regarding tax reporting as appropriate

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, desire to achieve CPA preferred
* 3-4 years of post qualified experience (Tax Accounting experience desirable)
* Some knowledge of Canadian, UK and International accounting standards desirable (IAS12 a big plus!)
* Experience in financial accounting systems/software (SAP desirable)
