Senior Tax Adviser - Planning and Projects

POSITION SYNOPSIS

Reporting to the Senior Tax Manager - Group Projects, you will be able to operate both collaboratively and autonomously and able to apply your professional approach to the following key accountabilities:

• Providing strategic tax advice to support business decisions of the Group’s Strategy and Business Development team.

• Participating in key M&A and divestment projects, providing timely, accurate, and jurisdictionally specific tax advice and recommendations to support business decisions;

• Participating in tax structuring and planning initiatives that include internal restructuring, global financing, capital management and dividend planning with particular focus on issues relevant to Australian tax law;

• Identifying and analysing changes in tax law for opportunities or risk mitigation; and

• Actively participating in Global Tax Planning & Strategy initiatives.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

You will be an appropriately qualified professional in Commerce and/or Law, with an ACA / CPA/ Master of Tax (or similar), as well as having significant experience and capability from a top tier professional accounting firm or leading multinational organisation. You will have practical and relevant Australian tax advisory experience together with a solid appreciation of the international tax environment. Knowledge of the Resources sector will be viewed favourably.

Outstanding attention to detail and analytical ability is considered essential for this role. A dynamic professional with strong interpersonal skills, you have excellent ability in relating to a broad cross section of people. With high work standards, you continuously demonstrate your initiative and ability in identifying and contributing to improved tax planning strategies.

This role will provide opportunities for ongoing professional development. Given the project based nature of this role, some domestic and international travel will be required.
