Position Synopsis
A challenging and rewarding opportunity exists for a Finance Advisor to provide expertise to BHP Billiton Petroleum’s Supply and Logistics and Drilling functions. The incumbent will support the Finance Manager Developments-Drilling and Supply and Logistics who functions as the senior finance professional for BHP Billiton Petroleum’s worldwide drilling supply and logistics team.
The Finance Advisor’s primary focus will be supporting the Perth Supply and logistics groups in the areas of managerial accounting, decision support, risk management, and contractual governance, contract review and identification of any finance issues. In addition, the role will support the manager and Drilling Finance Analyst in the standardization of global financial support of the worldwide drilling team.
The incumbent will coordinate with the controllers group, production units and project teams to ensure accurate and timely performance reporting, and on the quarterly forecast and annual plan. In addition, the position will identify any accounting issues and submit matters for consideration.
Skills and Experience
Tertiary qualified in Finance or Accounting, ideally with post graduate qualifications and CPA/CA accreditation you will bring to the role considerable experience in financial analysis, financial performance management, financial strategy and financial and managerial accounting. In addition experience in risk management, supply, information systems and value analysis would be ideal.
Exposure to the Petroleum Industry and Joint Venture accounting is desirable along with superior negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills and an advanced level of MS Office products and SAP.
