BHP Billiton produces copper, uranium, gold and silver from its Olympic Dam mining and processing operation located near Roxby Downs, South Australia. The operation is a long-life asset with a very significant mineral resource base - being the world’s fourth-largest known copper resource, the fourth-largest known gold resource and the largest known uranium deposit. The expansion project, currently in its Pre-Feasibility stage, aims to significantly increase production from the deposit in the safest and most efficient manner.

Positions will be based in Adelaide, where you and your family can enjoy a relaxed and easygoing lifestyle. Position Synopsis

We are looking for someone with high motivation and technical prowess who is willing to embrace the challenge of developing and delivering high quality project telecommunications & technology architectures, infrastructure, applications, systems and services for the mine autonomy team.

Take responsibility for developing design criteria, guidelines, standards and specifications for integration between business and autonomous systems. Design, develop, procure and deploy diverse and resilient telecommunications networks and infrastructure to support remote control and monitoring in rugged environments.

In addition, you will coordinate the development of systems and procedures for validating and testing new software and firmware. Through the Information Technology and Communications department, you will identify, assess, recommend and provide quality control of the telecommunications and technology infrastructure implementations; review and assess the engagement of third parties (vendors / service providers) and recommend solution(s) as required by the key stakeholders.
Skills and Experience

With tertiary qualifications in Electrical, electronic or telecommunications system engineering, you will demonstrate extensive experience in a similar role, have superior project management, systems engineering and presentation skills, and have a proven track record working on major projects.

You will have knowledge of architecting complex integrated collaborative systems utilising cable, fibre, radio frequency, wireless and satellite networks. Exposure to mining/resources sector is desirable.
