PURPOSE

Provide support to the Manager, Distribution, to the relevant Manager(s), Gas Marketing and Coordinator(s), Marketing, and to the Gas Marketing Finance team in completing the 1SAP data entry requirements and in generating the month-end invoicing and reporting data.

This position will provide critical support to the front office marketing and contracting activities as well as the back office financial accounting and reporting activities.

This individual will be responsible for coordinating all of the mid-office transaction accounting and reporting for all of the gas sales agreements existing in the region.

Where applicable, this individual will be responsible for providing back-up cover to the Gas Scheduler for gas control activities if they exist in the region and for providing back-up to other Distribution Administrators, where relevant.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Deliver accurate monthly revenue and volume accruals

• Generate and deliver accurate customer invoices and annual statements (when required) on a timely basis

• Ensure that required volume/pricing allocations are completed

• Adequate understanding of production forecasts and volumes available for sale

• Extensive understanding and proficiency with SAP and the 1SAP system

• Maintain access and understanding of pipeline scheduling systems and contacts for viable gas scheduling backup

• Maintain capability to issue contract statements (when required) for viable gas scheduling backup

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interface with Marketing Managers and Marketing Coordinators to ensure full understanding of deal structures and calculations.

• Participate fully in all training and testing activities associated with the implementation of 1SAP, becoming very proficient in the use of SAP and working to be the team “super user” capable of assisting Marketers as required in the use of 1SAP.

• Ensure that all documentation in support of the sales transactions are in order and filed appropriately in IXOS to meet SOX requirements.

• Complete stock take-on and volume data entry on a timely and accurate basis.

• Complete data entry and volume actualizations for timely accruals and invoicing.

• Customer and agency relations. Build relationships at appropriate levels of key customers/agencies and ensure that the customer/agency needs relating to invoicing and payment processes are met and issues resolved.

• Understands pipeline, transportation, shipping (if required), gas balancing and agency arrangements to ensure that key relationships are in place in the system and allocations are being completed accurately.

• Work with Gas Scheduler to establish a workable part time sharing of scheduling responsibilities.

• Apply the relevant processes and systems for gas marketing and interface with the other commercial areas in Petroleum to achieve functional excellence.

• Work with Manager(s), Marketing and Credit Risk Controller to help ensure all sales arrangements are maintained at value levels that remain below the approved credit limits.

• Ensure timely prior period and other invoice adjustments are completed.

• Work closely with GSAP finance team to comply with audit controls and data requirements.

• Conduct system regression testing and master data updates as necessary to maintain high system integrity.

• Complying and adhering to relevant BHPB HSEC Management Standards.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualification

Degree in business, accounting, information technology or marketing preferable or 5+ years experience in distribution area of business.

Experience & Technical Competencies

• 5+ years experience in using SAP based system essential

• Industry experience relating to gas control activities (nominations and scheduling) or scheduling /invoicing of similar commodities.

• Knowledge of marketing, technical and commercial issues associated with the development of oil and gas resources is desirable.

• Knowledge of energy markets and Logistics is a strong plus.

Languages

• English fluent plus local language
