ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop strategic plans for Drilling G&G services acquisition (both purchasing and contracting) and facilitate optimal information management and maintenance.
• Develop and maintain plans and metrics (KPI’s) for Category and measure progress against overall Business and Supply plan.
• Engage functional leadership and Production Unit (PU’s) staff in support of recommended strategies.
• Collect and share credible global and regional market intelligence with stakeholders, functions and colleagues.
• Develop supplier selection, negotiation and sourcing plans, facilitate and execute negotiations with Completion products and services suppliers.
• Develop strong, performance-driven relationships with suppliers that demonstrate value, safety, efficiency and reliability.
• Assure compliance with BHPB Corporate, Consumer Sector Groups CSG (Energy) and S&L policies, procedures and statutory requirements.
• Manage risk effectively and drive contracting excellence
• Facilitate and occasionally take the lead in contract formulation, development and management to increase operational efficiencies.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, customers, functional teams and other BHPB Sites.
• Improve Service Levels in line with agreed business plan and targets

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key contractors and suppliers to ensure best service, commercial terms, surety of supply and optimal leverage across all projects
• Align contractual, commercial and risk guidelines and approval policies to ensure effective governance
• Internal/ external benchmarking activities to achieve performance improvement (contract structure, incentive schemes, contractor management etc.)
• Develop and implement KPIs in contracts to ensure benchmark performance from contractors.
• Development standard contract templates to ensure consistency across all projects.
• Executes, or oversees the sourcing/tendering process for Drilling G&G Services supply including scope of work and coordination with key stakeholder /customer groups.
• Oversees the contract execution and administration process to insure that it is being performed in accordance with contractual requirements and meets key performance metrics
• Facilitate and resolve issues related to the Drilling G&G Services supply contracts
• Analyse reports, budgets, and schedules to proactively address potential problems and manage risk. Investigates solutions and establishes project recovery plans.
• Proactively investigates opportunities for improvements in the project scope that will result in value added change orders.
• Use negotiation skills to consistently resolve disputes.
• Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with customers and contractors.
• Awareness of Drilling and Exploration (seismic) operational activities coordinating contracts team with Contract Sponsors/Business Users and other functions to ensure contracting processes are implemented in timely fashion to meet business requirements (Contracting Strategies, Risk Assessments, Tendering Process, Negotiation, Contract Documents etc.)

• Global Drilling Supply Manager and other Energy CSG Supply Managers
• Drilling Contracts and Procurement Leads & Teams
• Global Drilling Manager & Drilling and Completions technical staff
• Function heads & team leads (HSE, Legal, Finance, etc)
• QA/QC personnel
• S&L Process Improvement Manager
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
• University Degree or equivalent.
• Advanced SCM/Procurement or Contracting Membership i.e ISM/CIPS/IACCM preferred
Experience & Technical Competencies
• Experience in the resources industry with exposure to upstream oil & gas operations specifically drilling, seismic and G&G activities and supplier/contract management
• Previous geophysical products and services technical experience a requirement
• A comprehensive understanding of upstream E&P business
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills with advanced risk management skills
• Demonstrated familiarity with logistical, marine, safety and service/data quality/IT impacts in this PSL
