DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this role is to support process improvement initiatives within the Global Petroleum Finance team through active participation in change management project teams.

This position reports to the Process Improvement and Systems Manager within the Global Controllers Group.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting

• MBA/CA/CPA preferred

• Seven to ten years of professional experience in upstream Oil & Gas preferred

• Superior interpersonal skills to handle various customer and stakeholder groups

• Knowledge and experience in SAP finance modules and associated practices

• Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software, flow charting and project management software

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards

• Experience with leading change management projects and/or Six Sigma certification desirable

• Strong problem solving, analytical, communication and facilitation skills

• Ability to develop and recommend value added business process and systems improvement recommendations

• Ability to build alignment and set direction for desired business process change
ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Participate in drafting project charters, project EWRM (Enterprise Wide Risk Management) risk assessments, process designs, developing risk management plans and project implementation plans;

• Identify major root cause problems in key finance and planning processes prohibiting major efficiency improvement. Develop solutions to root cause problems

• Identify organizational, cultural and behavioral changes required in Petroleum and Finance Stakeholders for new petroleum finance processes that are developed. Seek endorsement and support from Petroleum FLT steering Committee

• Develop education plans with key stakeholders and members of finance function on impact and expectations of cultural/behavioral changes

• Assist with monitoring and reviewing Finance team activities to assess compliance with new processes

• Interface with systems organization to ensure process changes are integrated with systems changes

• Liaise with Global Business Services, IT and other groups on systems support, developments and process issues
