POSITION OVERVIEW: Houston, TX NOTE Base to 150,000 to $165,000 + 100% cash bonus & stock SUPER CLIENT
The Manager/Director, Commercial Development reports directly to the Vice President of Commercial Development and is responsible for supporting, acquiring or marketing of supply to monetize existing, and developing asset positions, and extracting additional value from transactions through optionality. This position focuses on expanding the company’s presence by supporting the creation and development of LNG opportunities Position works closely with VPs and SVPs to help support their origination efforts, screen opportunities, and support the commercial execution. KNOWLEDGE:
Individual will have an understanding of the general facets of the energy markets and specifically of LNG markets. The Manager performs feasibility and risk analyses (creating and running models as needed) in support of the senior deal makers (VP and SVPs). Individual must have working knowledge of the LNG business including re-gasification terminalling, liquefaction terminalling, natural gas lifting, processing, option valuation, capital structures, project economics, shipping, economic and energy commodity pricing dynamics internationally, supplier alternatives, Geo-political issues, infrastructure development, and project management. This individual should have a good understanding of market fundamentals and correlations of other energy commodities. This individual should also have knowledge of other potential gas conversion and commercialization uses. Demonstrate the ability to understand financial, legal and technical aspects of commercial deals and maintain a balance between project advocacy and risk and make clear recommendations. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Cultivates excellent business relationships with business leadership, commercial partners, senior management, traders and support personnel. • Performs LNG and related project studies including deal structuring, and value and risk analyses (running current models and creating new models as necessary). • Researches proposals and assists with developing counterproposals. • Assisting VPs and SVPs in total project completion, including negotiations with counter parties and representation of Senior Management to foreign diplomats (as necessary). • Assesses risk and return for various deal scenarios QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS): Education: Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related discipline. Advanced degree desirable. Experience: Minimum 6 - 8 years experience in structuring and execution of complex financial transactions, significant energy industry commercial experience, risk management, commodity derivatives modeling, derivatives operations or middle-office and exposure to options pricing theory and simulation. Proven ability to negotiate transactions with counterparties. Skills: a. Well rounded analytical skills, including excellent valuation and fundamental analysis b. Excellent written and oral communication c. Clear and confident internal and external presentation skills in order to effectively represent Co. origination efforts to key decision makers d. Demonstrated ability to understand financial, legal and technical aspects of a commercial deal, maintain a balance between project advocacy and risk, and make clear recommendations e. Ability to promote and enhance teamwork. Commercial LNG experience. g. Excellent written and oral skills; Clear and confident internal and external presentation skills to effectively influence key decision makers; Effective communicator at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines. h. Team player who can both lead and support transactions within a matrix organizational structure, respecting and addressing needs and concerns of all deal-team participants. i. Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy. f. Meets deadlines and fully involves others in a timely manner.
