Senior Development Geophysicists
Based in Woodside Perth Office
Opportunities now exist for experienced development interpretation geophysicists to work at the Woodside head office in Perth.
Responsibilities:
Provide and maintain sound geophysical models (structural and/or stratigraphic) and prepare integrated seismic interpretations in assigned areas/fields for the purpose of planning, designing and optimizing well drilling programs, field development plans as well as reserve and economic evaluations.
Successful applicants will be expected to work closely with geologist and petrophysicist to integrate seismic and petrophysical data into the geological model.
In addition, the successful applicant must be able to think laterally and integrate production and engineering data, all of which will be used to meet company production and forecasting targets.
The work scope generally encompasses:

Involvement in planning seismic acquisition and processing/reprocessing activities if required.
*
Generation of seismic - well ties.
*
Two way time structural mapping on 2D and 3D seismic data.
*
Recommendations for and incorporation of Qualitative Interpretation (QI) studies if applicable.
*
Time to depth conversion.
*
Providing inputs to static modelling software.
*
Uncertainty estimation in top structure depth.
*
Involvement in development/appraisal well planning.
*
Involvement in updating field development plans.
*
Identification and utilisation of new and emerging technologies
As a Development Interpreter, the selected candidate will be responsible for the technical quality of all development geophysical interpretation studies for their respective fields. Operational activities will require close interfacing with the drilling and completions team for their respective fields. It is critical that the candidate is not only self motivated but also an excellent communicator and team player. Coordination of technical studies from geophysical service groups both internally and externally and consultants will be required.
The selected individual will be exposed to a range of experiences across the complete E&P value chain. The position requires a strong team working ability and good communication skills, in order to provide integrated 3D seismic interpretations and solutions for the generation of development opportunities.

Degree in Geophysics with advanced degree preferred.
*
Professional Geophysicist with 5-15 years of progressive experience in the oil & gas industry.
*
Strong technical background in structural geology and geophysics with ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.
*
Ability to produce high quality seismic interpretation products in a business driven environment.
*
Have a good understanding of seismic data evaluation and integration to geology.
*
Sound knowledge of seismic acquisition and processing and their impact on seismic interpretation.
*
Experienced hands on user of Landmark interpretation software or similar with experience in higher end 3D visualisation techniques.
*
Familiar with QI techniques and their incorporation into the interpretation process.
*
Experience with different depth conversion techniques and the generation of probabilistic gross rock volume estimates.
*
Familiar with Well Planning and Field Development Planning processes.
