Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will manage the Finance deliverables for the Major Projects, Suncor Project Implementation Model (SPIM) process, which will include being the Finance Gate Reviewer and/or coordinating the participation of other Major Projects (MP) Finance Managers to be Gate Reviewers. You will manage the ongoing sustainment of certain Finance processes (including internal controls (SOX), Finance SAP master data, operational excellence initiatives and project Finance policies and procedures) on behalf of Major Projects Finance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage the Finance deliverables for the Gate Reviews in the MP SPIM process which will include being the Finance Gate Reviewer and/or coordinating the participation of other MP Finance Managers to be Gate Reviewers
- Manage the ongoing sustainment of the authorities framework for MP, including monitoring of compliance with the Delegation of Authorities policy
- Manage the ongoing sustainment of the internal control (SOX) documentation and coordinate the annual testing
- Maintain and update MP Finance policies and procedures
- Review and approve changes for Finance related master data for MP prior to submission to Finance Operations & Projects (FO&P)
- Key contact and/or participant for Finance Operational Excellence initiatives
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
- University degree in a related field
- Accounting designation preferred (CMA, CGA or CA)
Skills and Knowledge:
- Exposure to internal controls (SOX)
- SAP R/3 knowledge and related Finance master data (e.g. cost centres)
- Knowledge of the Authorization of Expenditure (AFE) process
- General knowledge of oil sands royalties and available for use (income tax) is desirable
- Delegation of authority, process and policy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proficiency with using LiveLink
- Ability to apply influencing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Effective management of multiple competing priorities and projects
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- This role needs to work closely with the MP Finance Director and Finance managers
- This role will also work with a cross-functional team, including Project Management Governance in Major Projects
