$$$ Barrel price...its as simple as that really. While the madness surrounding efforts to ramp up major projects continues globally, Exploration & Production Companies are enjoying a renaissance in Victoria with both the historically significant Bass Strait and the recently developed regions both East & West proving to be profitable ventures. Development means drilling, and several of these fields have been targeted for campaigns spanning the next three years as a minimum.

At the front end of these projects sits the commercially critical area of contract set-up and negotiation. We are currently recruiting for a Senior Drilling Contracts Engineer to work within the Melbourne-based Project Management Team responsible for the timely execution of a number of these very significant drilling campaigns in our region and beyond.

You will have a sound knowledge of the discipline derived from your extensive experience in the Drilling business gained by representation on either the client-side, or with a recognised drilling contractor. We expect a track record that covers the full life-cycle of contract deliverables commencing with preparation of Request For Tender documents, Bid reviews, contract negotiation and administration.

It is imperative that you have previously worked as a Contracts Engineer for a suitably large scale organisation with a solid track record of project delivery in the Upstream Oil & Gas Industry. Your attention to detail is balanced with a pragmatic approach to the operational functionality of this high risk activity, and as such you will have a hands-on methodology and a keen understanding of how to create efficiencies and improve productivity both internally and externally with the various stakeholders.

This is a staff position, but we could also accommodate a term-contract for the right person. It is based in the Melbourne CBD, but naturally there is a travel requirement where external clients are in different regions. This vacancy is top priority, and as such will offer an immediate start and a competitive, well structured package for the right person.
