Experience: Minimum Requirements
15 - 20 years experience in exploration or field development geology and reservoir characterization and providing petrophysical support to geological studies, exploration wells and the development of the integrated reservoir model.
Expertise in log analysis and formation evaluation.
Experience evaluating hydrocarbon zones is a must and experience designing log acquisition and petrophysical programs for exploratory wells is required.
Must be able to calculate and map the well log parameters
Must be able to integrate all well data and particularly log analyses for calculating pay parameters
Proficient at interpreting and mapping data on either Schlumberger’s or Landmark’s workstations.
Must have worked in a multi disciplinary team environment that develops and updates the integrated reservoir model.
Can design and lead special studies such as net-pay cutoffs or heavy-oil and tar identification and distribution.
Identifies OWC, FWL, GOC using variety of data.
Experienced in fluid PVT reports and is able to calculate required parameters.
Ability to interpret NMR and FMI a plus.
Defines probability distributions of reservoir parameters and conducts risk/probabilistic analysis.
Has worked on world class giant reservoirs and has the ability to see missed opportunities.
Experience with unconsolidated shallow clastic reservoirs is a plus.
Must be able to effectively supervise and manage sub-contractors performance
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written are essential.
Additional attributes: Is innovative and constantly looks for ways to improve systems and procedures. Has a track record of managing risk and creating value. In addition to being a petropysical expert in clastics and carbonates, fractured carbonate, heavy oil development and gas condensate experience is a plus. Experience working with a real time decision making environment is a plus, e.g. monitoring and directing a drilling well with a 3-D visualization center. Can motivate staff and has prior mentoring/coaching experience, as knowledge transfer is an integral part job.
