Opportunities now exist for experienced professional engineers to provide process engineering advice to Woodside's operating (onshore or offshore) facilities to enhance safety, reliability and environmental performance and optimise performance of the process systems within the total integrated production system constraints.

Objectives of the position:

* Develop and maintain the operating envelopes for all process equipment on the offshore facility and seek opportunities to expand the envelopes.
* Provide advice on technical and operational matters relating to the physical offshore processes
* Enhance safety, reliability and environmental performance and optimise production by improving performance of the Process systems.

Key Responsibilities/accountabilities

* Define the operating envelopes for the physical processes (onshore or offshore)
* Provide optimum operating parameters/guidelines to maximise production, meet product specifications and minimise environmental discharges
* Maintain an up to date process model of the facility, validated against actual performance and with updated compositional data
* Provide timely response to day-to-day process engineering issues
* Conduct performance trials to identify equipment/system bottlenecks
* Provide equipment/system process performance data to Developments, Production Services and Integrated Service Contractors
* Identify and screen improvements to system performance (both HSE and production) and raise change proposal. Manage short term studies.
* Validate monthly Oil in Water data before being sent to DME. Validate pipeline (water) saturation data before including in monthly integrity report
* Provide onsite support for critical activities such as Well clean-ups, High rate trials, Start-up & Shutdowns etc

Business Environment
The offshore environment demands very high production system availability from facilities with high inherent technical integrity and with high focus on safety and the environment. At the same time considerable focus is required to contain costs.

Woodside's faciilties produce oil, condensate and gas at rates giving extremely large daily product values. Close monitoring and optimum operating guidelines provided by the process engineer can therefore add significant value. Conversely any work must be carefully planned to minimise any production impact.

On HSE Woodside is seen as a leader by the regulatory authorities and therefore there is significant benefit to Woodside’s reputation in continuing to improve performance, which the process engineer can affect (particularly the environment).

The position is a service provider - in an environment where there are a high number of diverse issues to be managed simultaneously. These are short to long term issues from a wide variety of customers. To be effective in this environment requires key abilities in building relationships, work prioritisation and customer focus, as well as technical knowledge.

Travel will be required to provide onsite support during activities such as Well clean-ups, High rate trials, Start-up & Shutdowns etc.

Qualifications

You currently have a degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Demonstrated operations support and /or engineering experience as a process engineer within the Oil and Gas industry is ideal. Your technical capability will complement your excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team where customer focus is important. Previous knowledge in process design simulation is desirable.

As a number of opportunities are available, we will be looking favorably at demonstrated experience at a senior engineer level.
