Geoscientist - Depth Imaging

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Capture and integrate the Depthing, Inversion and VSP data classes with seismic data.

Establish policies, standards and guidelines for the quality verification of the above data classes.

Ability to work with a team, and to train others.

Contributes in providing solutions to the various data delivery issues.

Help provide workflows support to end products and applications in data transfer, loading, etc.

Interface with Computer Department to define data types.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Candidate must be experienced in seismic interpretation using Geoquest and/or LandMark software and some Geophysical data processing experience preferably using DISCO. The candidate should also be knowledgeable about pre/post stack depthing, inversion and 2D/3D VSP

data classes with some experience in Exploration Data Management and Exploratioin GIS, specifically in ARC INFO and ARC VIEW in an Exploration Oil Industry Environment.

Candidate should also possess strong background about using UNIX, NT operating systems and LINUX if possible. Should be capable in writing scripts using some the UNIX support languages like PERL, SED. Finally, candidate should be well grounded in databases specially the ORACLE database ad the SQL server.
