Facilities Plant Engineer

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BS Engineering.

Experience: 9 years, preferably in the oil industry or similar process industry, such that the incumbent is clearly recognized as an expert in incumbent s field. Must have a thorough knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, U.S. and Aramco s Codes, Standards and Specifications.

Position Description

1) Provides high level engineering expertise in the resolution of plant operational problems. May provide work direction to lower classified engineers.

2) Formulate and implement long-term strategies to improve operations and reduce costs. Defines the long-term technical direction of his assigned operating area.

3) Serve as an advisor to management on technical questions and issues.

4) Responsible for the definitions and execution of BI-19 projects as assigned. Works with Facilities Planning department personnel to develop and define major capital budget items.

5) Provide technical direction in specialized areas to outside design contractor on major capital projects. Provide technical guidance for the development of capital projects.

6) Lead groups of engineers in the commissioning/start up phase of complex project and mothballing/demothballing of existing plants.

7) Ensure that all designs comply with standards area cost competitive, viable, and meet operational safety requirement.

Review waiver requests for non-compliance design and construction issues and provide technical advice for satisfactory resolution.

8) Develop/provide technical direction, and act as mentor to junior engineers.

9) Participate in standards review to assure inclusion of requirements that are practical benefit to field operation and maintenance in regard to safety and efficiency of the plants. Provides guidance on standards development through technical committee participation. Interprets standards and recommends changes to reduce costs associated with overly stringent requirements.

10) Plans and executes long range technical and operational studies.

Selection Criteria

Minimum years experience required is 10 years. Minimum required degree is BS Engineering with a major of Chemical. In-depth knowledge of international specifications, codes and standards with knowledge if engineering practices and economic principles, calculations methods and design details.

Knowledge of Oil and Gas & Water Injection.
