Job descriptionJOB PURPOSE:
- To ensure high levels of rotating machinery performance consistent with the specified demands of the performance contract, and to ensure that all strategies, methods and practices adopted take full account of long-term equipment integrity goals.
- To ensure that best rotating equipment practices adopted for, or developed from, the project are properly shared across Petrofac operations.
MAIN DUTIES:
- To establish and continuously improve all necessary systems, processes and procedures relevant for the professional management of rotating equipment fleet performance.
- To lead technical support efforts for all rotating equipment included in the contract scope, such that only effective and value adding actions are taken in support of machinery performance. This to include the integration of corporate (Machinery Management) and third party (OEMs etc.) resources.
- Lead/carry out equipment failure analyses such that effective remedial measures are identified and actioned to prevent recurrence.
- Liaise with contract performance engineer to ensure effective and professional monitoring and reporting of actual equipment performance and developing trends. And advise the contract managing engineer on those actions necessary to maintain/achieve the necessary levels of equipment performance.
- Liaise with the contract planning specialist to ensure that all necessary works relating to rotating equipment performance improvement are properly planned in accordance with the wider contract planning efforts.
- Liaise with contract resources engaged in the review of equipment criticality, development of maintenance strategies, and review of equipment spares needs.
- Liaise with the contract condition monitoring specialist to continually improve methods of non-intrusive equipment performance monitoring and review/assess condition monitoring data.
- Provide technical mentoring to contract staff engaged in the practical implementation of equipment maintenance strategies.
- Provide any supervision required at the sites during periods of critical maintenance intervention.
- Maintain an up to date awareness of equipment technological developments through appropriate means, i.e., review of periodicals, communication with vendors/OEMs, attendance at conferences/user groups, etc.
- To ensure that best rotating equipment practices adopted for, or developed from, the project are properly shared across Petrofac operations.
Requirements- An ideal candidate should have a Degree of Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical, from a reputed University or significant experience in lieu of degree with Ten years experience in a similar field, four of which in a supervisory position.
- With comprehensive knowledge of all types of machinery used in the field, such as turbines, gas engines, pumps, valves and compressors is essential.
- Capable to undertake major analyses of equipment histories, and maintain within the sections comprehensive statistical and technical data of machinery performance.
- Capable to control a schedule of diagnostic surveying and performance evaluation by directing on-site investigations, which involve using specialist technical equipment such as boroscopes, alignment telescopes and vibration analyzers.
- Should have worked in an overseas location - preferably Kuwait.
