MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: B.S. Science/Engineering Discipline.

Experience: Typically has thirteen (13) years of professional experience including at least five (5) years as a specialist with full responsibility for major technical work in incumbent s field. Incumbent will have achieved substantial industry recognition in incumbent s area of expertise. Normally incumbent will have published in significant technical journals and will have a history of active participation in technical society activities.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Saudi Aramco s Research & Development Division is located within the Research & Development Center and is establishing an ambitious research program in the area of combustion and fuel formulation. The program is aiming at developing advanced oil-based fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines. In addition to the in-house research and development activity, strong collaborative relationships are pursued with leading research institutions worldwide as well as with major players in the automotive industry. We seek to hire a senior research engineer or scientist to lead and manage these collaborations with outside research and industrial entities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, establishing, and maintaining these collaborations. Incumbent will also be responsible for coordinating Saudi Aramco resources and contributions related to these collaborations.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

Gather information about status and directions of fuel combustion R&D worldwide.

Develop a plan for strategic R&D collaborations which integrates with in-house activities.

Establish relationships and contracts with collaborators and act as first point of contact.

Manage collaborations and coordinate Saudi Aramco contributions.

Coordinate demonstration of new technologies and products related to the combustion and fuel formulation program inside and outside Saudi Arabia.

Work closely with other members in the technical team as well as contract representatives and legal advisors.

Coordinate exchange and progress meetings with collaborators inside and outside Saudi Aramco.

Provide periodic progress reports and presentations to the management.

Mentor and oversee development of Saudi Arab staff in his area of specialty.
