Petroleum Engineer

Petroleum Engineer required for major Operator in Aberdeen to start May 2008 on a short term basis (4 - 5 months).

Key Responsibilities;
- Responsible for supporting base management activities
- Providing support as required to the Petroleum Engineers located in the operational ACEs
- Conducting discrete projects and cross-field studies
- Identifying and developing best practice and implementing in multiple fields
- Act as cover for Petroleum Engineers for one or more assets
- Support the development and maintenance of appropriate optimisation models, incorporating well and surface network analysis (for example using Prosper/MBal/Gap)
- Develop new well start-up procedures in close co-ordination and collaboration with the Petroleum Engineer, Operations and Drilling teams, ensuring mitigation of HSE risks
- Support the production allocation and forecasting processes
- Hold quarterly well / panel reviews in conjunction with the reservoir management teams to deepen understanding of the reservoir and maintain a live hopper of wellwork opportunities
- Review reservoir and well losses across multiple fields and identify options for reducing future losses
