Description:CCL has been requested by a leading Oil & Gas company to provide a Mechanical Construction Superintendent to monitor and manage the construction and installation of the mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, drainage and other mechanical installations) for a new headquarters building and expatriate residential compound. A single status residential position based in Kazakhstan initially in head office but will require travel to the local site, contractor's offices in Kazakhstan and sometime overseas. Contract duration 1 year (renewable). First class accommodation and local transport provided. Excellent daily rates.
Qualifications:HND or other equivalent qualification in a mechanical engineering field. Excel, Word and other office PC software programmes. Patience and skills to work closely with engineers and contractors from different cultures and develop technical interchange and understanding in both directions. Fluent in written and spoken English as working language is English. Knowledge of Russian and / or Kazakh language and previous experience in FSU is highly desirable.
Experience:Minimum 10 years' industry experience with 3 years in a senior on-site supervisory role overseeing mechanical works on large construction projects. Good experience in the full range of mechanical building activities including the construction of multi-storey buildings with knowledge or, preferably, experience of construction in cold climates. Good leadership skills as two Kazakh Mechanical Construction Supervisors will report to this position. Must demonstrate a personal commitment to Health. Safety and the Environment by following Kazakhstan Statutory Health, Safety & Environmental Regulations and applying Client's Safety Management Systems to ensure compliance with specific HSE requirements on project sites and cooperate with HSE staff in ensuring that EPC contractors also comply insofar as mechanical construction works are concerned.
