Location: USA DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Repairs and maintains electronic/hydraulic machinery and equipment, such as tension machine, applying knowledge of electronic and hydraulic mechanics using hank and power tools and other precision measuring instruments.
Converses with equipment operators to ascertain problems with equipment before breakdowns.
Test electronic components and circuits to locate defects, using oscilloscopes, signal generators, amp meters, and volt meters.
Replaces defective components and wiring and adjusts mechanical parts, using hand and power tools and soldering iron.
Aligns, adjusts and calibrates equipment according to specifications.Calibrates testing instruments and maintains record of repairs, calibrations and tests, and installs electronics equipment aboard barges.
Diagnosis and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards using electronic test equipment and hand tools.Visually inspects and listens to operating machinery to detect malfunctions.
Reads pressure gauges to detect abnormal oil pressure and smells to determine overheated oil.
Turns valve to release pressure from hydraulic system and disconnects hydraulic supply and return lines, using hand and power tools and removes and replaces defective accumulator, using hand and power tools.
Connects charging assembly to accumulator and fills accumulator bladder with nitrogen gas to recharge accumulator following manufacturer’s specifications.
Replaces worn or damaged hydraulic components, such as oil lines, fitting, cylinder, servo-valves, pressure release valves, gaskets and seals, using hand and power tools.
Disassembles hydraulic system and removes and replaces defective actuator, pump bearings and pump motor, using hand and power tools and hoist.Observes operation of machinery and equipment to verify repair and performs routine maintenance such as changing filters, following a schedule, using hand and power tools.
Cleans work area using solvents and other cleaning devices.
Works a 12 hour shift in an offshore environment and adopts safety program of company.
Has the ability work for job duration offshore.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical School, Trade School, or formal training in hydraulics and electronics preferred.
2 to 4 years of experience with electronics and hydraulics preferred.
Basic mechanical and electrical skills required to prepare equipment.
Understands the proper operation of testing equipment and tools, volt meters, gauges, temperature probes, etc.
Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems and the ability to align, adjust, & calibrate equipment according to manufactures specifications.
Technical training in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics which includes symbology and terms preferred.
Offshore experience preferred.
