Our client, a world leader in oil and natural gas explorations and production is looking for a Petrophysicist to work in their team environment.
Responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will work closely with engineers, geophysicists, geologists, reservoir modelers, and RMT engineers to identify, develop and execute economically successful development projects.
• Required roles will include both operational coordination of well evaluation programs, and support for major field studies.
Qualifications:
• BS or higher degree in geology or engineering from an accredited university.
• Formal training in petrophysics including logging tool theory and its response to different lithologies.
• A team player able to work with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, geophysicists, geologists, and reservoir modelers to develop economically successful prospects.
• Proficiency in petrophysical rock description, core & log integration, and reservoir characterization, including capillary pressure measurements, special core analysis, regression analysis, and relative permeability measurements.
• Familiarity with parameters used to characterize the displacement efficiency of reservoirs, such as Dykstra-Parsons & Lorenz coefficients.
• Ability to provide operational support for drilling and log analyses, including tool selection and log quality control.
• Experience providing petrophysical support to reservoir-characterization field studies.
• Proficiency with petrophysical software such as LOGIC (Shell) and/or Powerlog (Petcom).
• Proficiency with PC based Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with UNIX based Landmark applications
• Ability to effectively manage large volumes of well and production data.
• Familiarity with UNIX based Landmark geologic applications such as Zmap+ and Stratworks.
• Experience with Petrophysical analysis in carbonate reservoirs.
Additional Desired Qualifications:
• Permian Basin Experience
• Logging company experience (as a field engineer)
• Geostatics/3D visualization experience
• Ability to travel occasionally to field locations
