Highly successful and rapidly growing independent midstream crude oil transportation and marketing company is seeking to hire a TECHNICAL SERVICES ENGINEER for their corporate office in Houston, TX.
This client is actively interviewing and is seeking that candidate who wants to make a difference and achieve the highest level of excellence based on their abilities.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of the Technical Services Engineer are to review pipeline operations to determine where deficiencies exist and provide technical support to Operations and Engineering.
• Provide Field Operations and Engineering technical support on:
Ø Rotating equipment (i.e. pumps, motors, and engines)
Ø Pipeline services (i.e. relocations, stress calculations, pigging projects, and etc.)
Ø Equipment recommendations and upgrades
Ø Instrumentation and Electronics
Ø Development and utilization of Technical Standards
• Review pipeline operations to identify and justify efficiency projects
• Review equipment efficiency and provide recommendations on possible upgrades
• Complete hydraulic modeling to determine capacities, surges, bottlenecks, and operating cost
• Travel to field locations may be required, but is estimated to be less than 25% of time.
• Department members will have unplanned overtime and changes in work priorities; multiple projects with short turnaround time are common.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Educational requirements include a BS in Engineering. Other degrees may be considered if enhanced by appropriate work experience.
• The successful candidate should have 5+ years of pipeline operating experience preferable with an emphasis on technical support or system design.
• The ability to perform hydraulic calculations and operate hydraulic modeling software required.
• Candidate must also have strong communications skills and be able to function well on teams.
• The ability to operate standard PC based programs required.
