Organization/DepartmentOur client is a major Oil operator, currently on the construction of a FPSO. Engineering in Houston, USA, and construction in South Korea.
The oil field is in deep water offshore Angola
Job description- Supervise, provide guidance and coordinate all disciplines (Safety, Process, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, E/I) for the topsides design. Will have enough knowledge in hull design (FPU or FPSO) to ensure a good coordination
- Will be the Company Representative for all the disciplines.
- Take good knowledge of the process design: Process flow diagrams, Basis of Design, equipment list and Technical Referential.
- Ensure coordination between the Contractors and Company Process design Team for any question and suggestion from the Contractors
- Manage and supervise all disciplines (Safety, Process, mechanical, piping, electricity, Instrumentation…) that will be involved in the basic design work, including the necessary contacts with Vendors and the cost estimate works that will be conducted by Total.
- Supervise and promote cost saving solutions in the design of the FPU. Clearly identify the possible deviations from Total referential and report of the same to COMPANY for final decision of implementation or not.
- Challenge the Contractor in the safety engineering. Organize and participate in the HAZOP reviews.
- Manage engineering interfaces with hull and risers designs
- Participate in Contractor’s weekly meetings
- Ensure detailed progress reporting to the project management
- Supervise all Contractor procurement activities (preparation of the technical bid package, evaluation of the proposals) and be responsible for final recommendation to award.
Requirementsmore than 10 years of similar experience required, in FPSO or FPU projects.

First month of assignment based in Houston;
