CCL has been requested by a leading international engineering consultancy to provide Project Purchasing Leads to be responsible for planning, monitoring, controlling and reporting all purchasing activities. Although client prefers candidates based in Houston area relocation assistance will be considered for out of state candidates. Contract or staff position with compensation / package dependent on experience and qualifications. This vacancy is being handled by CCL’s Houston Office.
Ideal candidates will be well educated and have a Bachelors’ Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Operations or closely related field, or equivalent work experience. Reports to Project Procurement Manager. Computer literate. Ability to work as part of a team efficiently and demonstrate effective organisational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks with strong communication and presentation including fluent written and spoken English. Must be eligible to live and work in the U.S.A.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Petrochem / Refinery plus EPC Company background. Large project experience beneficial. Purchase material / services at or below estimate. Perform bid evaluations and issue purchase orders. Ensure all purchase orders are complete. Resolve problems and discrepancies that may occur and assist in implementing corrective actions. Negotiate complex or large dollar value purchase orders for regional and / or international purchases. Work with procurement management to identify performance gaps and correct; including systems, cost management and people resources. Provide leadership and instruction to Buyers and manage purchasing priorities. Ensure work is being coordinated between the other departments, offices, fabrication and construction to meet project requirements. Maintain / promote a focus on Clients end product whether procurement, engineering, fabrication or construction related.
