Position available for Production Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of experience with well completions and remedial activities. This position is part of a team responsible for monitoring well performance, and diagnosing and repairing downhole problems. High focus on gas wells. This is an office-based job in a field location; duties will include: preparing procedures, specifying and selecting downhole equipment and tools, analyzing temperature surveys and production logs, working with subsurface team, field operators and vendors to optimize production and solve downhole problems in a “safe-clean-responsible” manner. Field supervision of some activities may also be required. Most activities involve coiled-tubing operations (jetting, clean-outs, squeeze cementing), perforating, production logging, and various wireline activities. The Alaska Asset Team operates 8 onshore natural gas fields (including 2 oil wells), one small offshore gas production platform (one producing well), and a gas storage reservoir. Most activities occur within 30 minute driving distance of the Kenai production office. Employer has an active, year-round, drilling and workover program, and utilizes a company-owned rig for most rig-related activities. Current AAT initiatives include solving problems associated with liquids loading in multi-interval wells and wells with very low reservoir pressure. AAT wells are directionally drilled at high angles from gravel production pads to minimize environmental impact. Many of these wells are completed using Excape technology to permit completion and fracture stimulation in up to 17 zones. The life-cycle of these wells provides unique remedial challenges. 1. Monitor day-to-day well production and performance; work with subsurface team, production operators and service vendors to optimize production, diagnose problems and identify corrective actions. 2. Prepare AFE’s, procedures and sundry notices for remedial well activities including coiled tubing operations (well clean-outs, jetting/unloading, cement squeezes, velocity string installations), perforating, cased hole logging, and wireline operations. 3. Work with vendors to select and specify equipment and services. 4. Monitor daily water disposal/injection operations. 5. Understand and comply with Marathon safety and environmental policies, and regulatory reporting obligations. Perform all responsibilities in a “safe-clean-responsible” manner.
