Mechanical Engineer - Compressor/Natural Gas/Pressure Vessels 80-100 K/yr

Immediate Needs for Mechanical Engineer with 5 years experience in natural gas compressor business or related industry, including 3 years with separable natural gas compressor packages (PE in TX is preferred). Preferred Skills and Experience from an ideal candidate: Understanding of selection and application of natural gas compressors, mechanical aspects of natural gas compressor packages, industry codes, piping codes and pressure vessel codes including piping and pressure vessel sizing criteria. Must understand industrial drafting standards and symbols, process, instrumentation, and wiring diagrams, skid, vessel, and pipe fabrication drawings. General knowledge of engine, electric motor, and compressor systems including layout construction, and installation design requirements. Experience in cost review control, budgeting, and other financial considerations. Daily responsibilities: generate labor and material estimates, size appropriate piping, valves, and other components as needed for packages, perform design calculations in compliance with ASME code for pressure vessels. Solicit bids from suppliers for components, end devices, and control panels. Review, revise, and approve process and instrumentation diagrams, fabrication drawings, electrical diagrams, and general assembly drawings for use on packages. Develop detailed bills of material for package systems. Specify and coordinate appropriate outsourced technical studies on torsion, vibration, and pulsation to make certain that packages are properly engineered while also monitoring costs.
