Gas Process Engineer needed for a fulltime position with an oil and gas company in Bakersfield, CA. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering and have a minimum of five years field-plant work experience performing process engineering for gas conditioning and processing facilities. Requires knowledge in reliability engineering principles and life cycle cost analysis, corrosion engineering principles, gas processing operations and maintenance functions, DCS control systems and data historian systems such as OSI PI, and CA environmental regulations. Proficiency in the use of applicable process simulation and economic analysis software (HYSYS, BR&E, PEEP, etcetera) including the ability to evaluate results relative to actual plant operations; a thorough understanding of process control theory, control elements and systems; as well as a working knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management elements and typical safety program requirements, industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, ASME Section 8, Div. 1 Pressure Vessel Code, etcetera.), and rotating and stationary equipment, and materials of construction. The role encompasses the support of gas processing plant operations, which includes three gas processing plants (two straight refrigeration plants and one lean oil absorption plant), and related gathering, compression and dehydration facilities, and a 46 mW cogeneration facility.
