THE ROLE
CCL has been asked by a major international oil company to provide a Geophysicist. Travel as required by Client. Remuneration will depend on experience and qualifications. This is a key position with good long term prospects with a very progressive US oil company. This position is being handled by CCL's Houston office.
THE PERSON
Minimum 3 years relevant experience. This position requires a Geoscientist with good seismic interpretation skills to be part of a team charged with regional play fairway analysis, prospect generation for lease sales, and evaluation of farm-in and acquisition opportunities. The primary work focus will be regional and prospect mapping, integration of data from various sources, and exploration resource estimation. Accordingly, the ideal candidate will have significant prospect development experience, integrating well and analog data to frame exploration opportunities in proper structural and stratigraphic context. Experience in basic modeling and petroleum systems analysis is a plus but not a requirement. Participate in maintenance of play fairway maps and develop regional stratigraphic and structural models. Produce probabilistic and deterministic resource estimates. Working with an integrated team, perform evaluations on exploration farm-in opportunities and asset acquisitions. Prospect generation for bidding opportunities in lease sales. Work with Lease Maturation teams to integrate regional information into prospect scale mapping.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Bachelors Degree required, Masters preferred, in Geology or Geophysics or equivalent experience and educational background required. Landmark Applications and Microsoft Office Suite required. Fluent written and spoken English. US residency or work permit essential.
