Senior Cold Regions Engineer needed for a long term contract assignment with a major oil and gas company in Houston, TX. The candidate must be able to work in the US without company sponsorship, possess a master's degree in civil engineering, and have ten years related experience. Previous experience with both fixed and floating structures exposed to sea ice or icebergs is preferred, including knowledge of ice sciences and ice/structure interaction. In addition, experience with cold regions operations and logistics, together with knowledge of contractor capabilities are preferred. The candidate will be responsible providing engineering expertise to a variety of the client's development projects in cold regions where permafrost, sea ice and/or icebergs are significant design considerations, assisting development projects in meeting safety, environmental and capital cost objectives and participate in the development of company and industry standards, providing technical support throughout the development phase of projects from conceptual to final design/execution, developing scope of work for desk studies, developing technical specifications, assisting in contractor selection, providing effective interface with business units, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations. Russian second language is a plus.
