Marine and Coastal Engineer needed for a long-term contract position in Houston with a major oil and gas company. The candidate must be able to work in the US without sponsorship. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in marine engineering and at least ten years of related industry experience and will possess strong technical and analytical skills, experience in the management of engineering designs, an ability to evaluate different conceptual designs and a familiarity with marine analysis and design software. The candidate's responsibilities will include providing marine engineering expertise and assistance to a variety of development projects worldwide in meeting safety, environmental and capital cost objectives. The candidate will provide technical support with marine terminal design including conventional fixed docks and near shore or offshore loading facilities, turning basins, LNG berths and cargo transfer concepts, protective breakwaters, slope protection, slope stability, berthing and mooring systems design and analysis, loading arms and fenders systems, dredging and channel requirements, vessel acceptance criteria.
