Senior Civil and Structural Engineer needed for a long term contract position in Houston. The candidate must be able to work in the US without company sponsorship. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and at least ten years of related industry experience and will possess strong technical and analytical skills, experience in the management of engineering designs, an ability to evaluate different conceptual designs and a familiarity with structural analysis and design software. The candidate's responsibilities will be providing civil and structural engineering expertise to a variety of the client's development projects worldwide, assisting the development projects in meeting safety, environmental and capital cost objectives, and participating in the development of company and industry standards. The candidate will be required to provide technical support throughout the development phase of projects from conceptual to final design/execution, develop scope of work for conceptual studies, develop technical specifications, assist in contractor selection, assure quality control of contractor's work throughout project execution, provide effective interface with business units, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations. Technical support is required with the structural design and analysis of concrete and steel structures including plant buildings, structural inspection, rehabilitation and upgrading, blast resistant design, earthquake analysis, foundations and pilings for equipment, structures and tanks, dynamic analysis of rotating equipment foundations and structures, site selection and preparation including earthwork, paving and roadways, drainage systems and sewer/drainage design.
