As part of EnCana’s long term commitment to the Province of Nova Scotia, and in keeping with our commitments outlined in the Offshore Strategic Energy Agreement (OSEA), we are looking for a Telecom Technologist to join the Deep Panuke project development team in Halifax, Nova Scotia under our Developing Skills Initiative.
The Developing Skills Initiative will help you get the skills and experience that are in demand in Nova Scotia’s offshore oil and gas industry. During this exciting development phase of the Deep Panuke offshore natural gas project you will gain valuable exposure to many aspects of the project as the focus transitions from engineering to procurement, fabrication and pre-commissioning, into transportation, offshore integration, commissioning and production start-up.
As a key member of the Telecom Team, the Telecom Technologist assists with the design, troubleshooting and installation of the Deep Panuke telecom system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
under the direction of the Design Lead prepare telecom system designs specific to the Deep Panuke offshore site review design plan against health and safety regulations and requirements troubleshoot and test system under various scenarios prepare technical documentation per project and regulatory guidelines carry-out pre-installation conformance and compliance tests carry-out on site customer acceptance tests
Qualifications:
must be eligible to work in Canada must have lived in Nova Scotia for 6 months prior to start date, or be eligible to vote in Nova Scotia per Elections Canada guidelines diploma in electrical, electronic, instrumentation or mechanical technology
0 – 4 years’ experience experience with AutoCad preferred understanding of telecom system installation and commissioning knowledge of or experience in ISO 9001:2000 environment is ideal
