Description
Drilling & Completions' (D&C) purpose is to actively assist in making Woodside a preferred partner of governments, joint venture participants, customers and community.

Woodside's D&C group:

* Conducts world-wide drilling, completion & workover operations;
* Develops and trains drilling personnel;
* Applies and extends the best technology;
* Co-ordintates world-wide drilling services and rig schedules;
* Oversees OBO (operated by others) drilling operations.

Due to our significant success international success in securing and developing new projects, Woodside is seeking experienced Drilling Engineers.
As a Senior Drilling Engineer you will be expected to deliver drilling engineer input into the design of exploration, appraisal and production wells including:

* Casing design
* Mud selection
* Cementation design and specification
* Well trajectory design and survey planning
* Drill string and BHA design
* Bit selection
* Preparation of Drilling Programs

Key Responsibilities

* Provide well engineering input to project / asset teams in the screening and evaluation phase of new opportunities. Assist in the creation of Basis For Well Design, and the scheduling of engineering effort.
* Assuring compliance with regulatory requirements for well construction activities, including preparation of documentation for government approval
* Well cost estimation and communication
* Preparation of rig and equipment for drilling operations
* QA/QC of Service Suppliers procedures and work instructions
* Co-ordinating interfaces between Service providers for Drilling equipment and services
* Provide onshore Engineering support for offshore Drilling operations
* Mentor and train junior Drilling Engineers
* Implement safety and environmental responsibilities as identified in the Woodside Management System through pursuance of assigned activities in Drilling & Completions HSE Improvement plan. Participate in Hazops, Simops reviews and risk assessments as necessary.


Qualifications

* Good all-round Drilling Engineering experience, of which >3yrs must have been with wellsite Drilling Engineering, and of which >5yrs should have been professional Engineering experience.
* A sound & demonstrated knowledge of Well Control Operations.
* Having wide experience & knowledge in Drilling Engineering, in some or all of the following. Drilling optimisation, Directional Drilling and Surveying, including ERD, Drilling Fluids design and application, Bore hole mechanics, Wellhead & Casing design and selection, HPHT well design.
* Familiar with all aspects of onshore and offshore operations.
* Experienced in use of drilling engineering software ideally the Landmark products Stresscheck, Wellplan and Compass
* Ability to communicate with Management, well work team members and Asset representatives, and with Woodside's contractors,
* Develop a good knowledge of Woodside's D & C organisation and procedures.
* Good data management skills and demonstrated computer software literacy.
* BSc / HND in Engineering or related subject
