Production Engineer

Description Our client is a major international operator. They require 10 new Production Engineers to join their team. The positions are city office-based in North Africa but may include visits to the fields or well sites. They are offered on either a Day-rate or Staff basis. Whilst the client would prefer to engage these Engineers on a Residential basis, a Rotational contract would be considered, but would be in the 8 / 3 week range rather than 4 / 4 weeks. Responsible for routine well production surveillance and problem well diagnostics. Evaluate and diagnose problem wells. Initiate and prepare workover programs for remedial work, including workover programs for ESP change outs, ESP installations, well recompletions, stimulations, gas lift string or any work required for the normal operations of wells.Prepare and recommend well completion programms for newly drilled wells. Evaluate ESP performance of wells. Design/redesign ESP and recommend changes to improve wells operation.Co-ordinate and monitor field work, including pressure surveys, cased hole logging and well production testing.Prepare and present field status reviews to management.Handle special production projects including production string designs for new wells, evaluation of new production methods, scaling in wellbores and any other project affecting the operation.In conjunction/co-operation with Field Supervisors, propose, prepare and process, field equipment purchase requirements. Prepare departmental Operating and Business plans.Contact Field Supervisor on a daily basis and provide assistance/technical support on matters related to the routine management of field wells operation.Keep Manager/Coordinator Production Engineering, advised on work in progress or any important/unusual events in the field.Perform other routine duties or special assignments as assigned by upper management and Field Supervisors. Provide guidance to the development of less senior technical professional staff. Work in liaison with Reservoir and Workover & Drilling technical staff to achieve clients main objectives.

10-15 years experience covering main phases of Petroleum Engineering, including Reservoir Engineering, Drilling and/or Workover engineering.Demonstrated knowledge of artificial lift operations including ESP and gas lift production systems Sound knowledge of PC computer operation including knowledge of key software suitable for handling routine office work and recent experience with production optimisation computer software like EPS FloSystem and ESP design programs A B.Sc or M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering is essential
