Senior Drilling Engineer

Description Our client is a major UK-based producer. They are seeking a Senior Drilling Engineer on a contract basis, to provide Drilling Engineering direction and input to the 5 well exploration drilling program in the Deepwater Mediterranean Sea. Well engineering planning & subsurface interface, cost estimating, support rig and service strategy/tender process and support logistic set up. Perform these tasks in line with BP Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM), and OMS guidelines: - Act as the single point of accountability for subsurface interface in the Appraise and Select time periods of well planning. - Ensure effective communication of well plans to the Tripoli based team where define and execute teams will be based. - Provide well cost estimates, project budget estimates and formal AFE preparation - Develop the Deepwater Rig Strategy and Implement - Preparation of regulatory requirements - Liaison with the Libyan National Oil Company on Well Plan and Tender Decisions - Preparation of well engineering Decision Support Packages - Preparation of Basis of Design documents - Delivery of Drilling Programs and amendments - Support the contract tender and evaluation process - Support the procurement and/or building of logistic base - Support development of logistic strategy and contracts for necessary equipment - Liaison with service contractors for planning and support requirements

University degree required CertificationIWCF well control, UKOOA Medical, Fire fighting & Survival Fluent in English and knowledge of Arabic would be beneficial

- Solid Drilling Engineering background, 10 years +; - Offshore, Deepwater, Remote operations experience; - Excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment; - Operator experience preferred.
