Description The primary function of this post is to provide geophysical support and impetus to the exploration and management of our client's HPHT North Sea licences in the UK and Norway: Regional interpretation of key Jurassic and Triassic target horizons across the HPHT asset area including o Salt modeling of Pre-cretaceous structures o Input into structural restoration during the Triassic and Jurassic o Input into play fairway analysis in UK/Norway New venture evaluations of opportunities within the HPHT asset area, including licence rounds and data rooms Progression of concepts, leads and prospects into drill ready opportunities. Peers include two other exploration geologists, two geophysicists and one GDP. A position for a regional exploration geologist has also been advertised. Petrophysical, reservoir engineering, commercial and well engineering resources are managed centrally on a service provision basis across UK. The exploration geophysics function is responsible for: • Finding and evaluating new concepts, leads and prospects in existing and open acreage. A particular task is key input into the generation of a regional set of play maps for the field defining the distribution of the salt/salt withdrawl basins and the distribution of Upper Jurassic & Triassic reservoir facies • The preparation of drill ready prospects in partnership with the other members of the technical team • Supporting well drilling activities by planning new wells and providing operational support • Quantification of risk and in-place volumes • Ensuring the value assurance framework is utilized through relevant peer assists, peer reviews and functional reviews

A Degree in Earth Sciences is essential, Post Graduate Degree an advantage

Well rounded geophysicist with proficiency in structural interpretation - some experience of the UK CNS pre- Cretaceous, or analogous salt basin, would be an advantage. A working knowledge of other disciplines including geology, reservoir engineering and petrophysics. Experience of building reservoir models in a multi-disciplinary team working with geologists and engineers. Experience of well planning and design. Sound working proficiency in Geoframe/IESX.
