Description Our client is a major UK-based producer with worldwide assets. They currently require a Senior Petroleum Engineer to work on rotation in North Africa. Initially the contract will be for 12 months with the possibility to extend. Main responsibility is to lead the Petroleum Engineering Team comprising three PEs and one trainee for all petroleum engineering work associated with the completion planning, execution, clean up and well testing operations for any new or worked over wells, and ensure any wells are handed over to operations effectively. The position will be part of the Wells team that supports the projects based in North Africa. The projects are managed by a Joint Venture comprising of 3 companies. Members of all three companies are seconded into the Joint Venture to develop and operate the assets. Roles & Responsibilities Single point accountability for Petroleum Engineering with the Wells Group. Lead Petroleum Engineering team in planning, operations & subsurface interface with efficient equipment and services supply and cost estimating. Perform these tasks in line with Health, Safety and Environment, Supply Chain Management and Project management framework - Lead Petroleum Engineering Team in HSSE performance. Actively support Wells team HSSE objectives and ensure full participation within the PE team - Plan, manage, monitor and support Completion and Well Testing programmes - Provide well cost estimates, project budget estimates and formal AFE preparation - Lead continuous improvement using Technical Limits & After Action Reviews - Completion programmes developed within Capital Value Process Stage Gate Process - Delivery of Completion documents within Decision Support Packages - Ensure completion designs meet subsurface well objectives - Liaison with Supply Chain Management group to ensure supply of services and materials - Ensure regulatory compliance for all Petroleum Engineering activity - Provide guidance and monitor Petroleum Engineers to ensure programmes, procedures, lessons and end of well reports are effectively managed. - Delivery of Basis of Design documents - Delivery of Completion Programs and amendments - Liaison with service contractors for planning and support requirements - Well Handover documentation and assurance

Education University degree required, min BSc degree in Engineering Certification UKOOA Medical, Fire fighting & Survival Languages needed English - fluent Arabic & French - a knowledge would be beneficial, otherwise learning French is required

Experience - Solid Completion & Well Testing Engineering background, 8 years + - Land operations experience not a requirement but would be beneficial - Excellent communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment; - Operator experience of well planning project management preferred
