Description: One of our clients key Business Units (BU) has an excellent career opportunity for a highly motivated Reservoir Engineer to contribute to the growth of one of our clients core properties. The successful candidate will work as part of an enthusiastic, multi-disciplinary Property Team within the BU and will be accountable for understanding current reservoir performance, predicting reserve/production potential associated with the various capital options within the Property Team’s portfolio. This position will appeal to individuals with a reservoir focus, and who have strong technical skills with simulations, pressure transient analysis, petro-physical/rock analysis, and reserve booking techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct economic evaluations of wells/projects/land sales
• Provide reservoir management expertise, including tracking well and pool performance using decline analysis, Pressure Transient Analysis (PTA) volumetric mapping, and material balance
• Partner with geologists, petrophysicists, and geophysicists to quantify volumetric resource in place for above
• Coordinate reservoir simulation studies as required to help quantify flow units & matrix contribution
• Prepare field depletion strategies to enhance recovery and production including well down spacing densities
• Participate in design, evaluation and optimization of completions
• Provide key input to the long range plans, annual budget and PAR (Project Approval Request) processes, and forecast base production
• Ensure regulator guidelines are followed and used to maximize the value of the assets
• Review the activities of competitors in the area and recommend acquisition candidates
Requirements: • APEGGA Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with 8-10 years of related experience
• Strong quantitative analysis and reservoir engineering skills with demonstrated success in development
• Experience in economic analysis using PEEP is preferred
• Previous simulation experience
• Knowledge of Pressure Transient Analysis
• Familiarity with economic analysis in support of acquisitions, farm-ins and land sales is an asset
• Knowledge of production engineering issues and optimization is an advantage
• Demonstrated knowledge of geological, geophysical and petrophysical disciplines
• A self-starter who is motivated and shows initiative
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Well developed communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
