Hays Oil & Gas currently has a long-term contract opportunity available for an experienced Subsea Structures Engineer. Working for one of our best clients, you will be engaged on a major subsea project and will be involved in the detail design development of a range of subsea structures with particular responsibility for the manifold design and installation package. Joining the project as it transitions from FEED to detail design, you will be required to work closely with the subsea equipment vendor to ensure key deliverables, undertake regular design reviews, manage design changes, measure vendor performance and ensure that your scope of works is delivered as per the project requirements. There will be opportunity to continue this role through the project installation phase once the design has been completed. Essential to the role is the ability to manage design with respect to relevant codes and standards and to properly document and manage all change requests against cost and schedule. You will be required to develop a strong working relationship with the equipment vendor and will act as the sole point of contact for all issues related to the structures package. You will need to have demonstrable experience in chairing and managing vendor meetings and will need to have the level of experience necessary to expedite these with influence and respect. Key to the success of this role will also be your ability to interface with other discipline engineers and internal stakeholders. This project is being executed as a close joint venture partnership; developing strong and mutually beneficial relationships is essential. We are looking for engineers that will commit to upholding these core values and who are able to commit to the project on a long-term basis. You should have a relevant engineering degree together with not less than five years' experience in the subsea detail design. Ideally, you will have already have a strong track-record of project engineering within an EPC environment, although exceptional engineers from an equipment vendor background are welcome to apply and demonstrate their experience in the above areas. This role is available for an immediate start on a contract basis and as such is only suited to engineers who are citizens or permanent residents of Australia. 457 visa-holders who are already resident in Australia are encouraged to call and discuss their position before applying in writing.
