Aerotek Energy Services is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer for our oil & gas client here in Houston, TX for a DIRECT HIRE Opportunity.
Our client is an oil & gas company here in the Houston area that designs, builds, & services downhole tool products. Our client is looking to interview & hire a candidate as soon as possible.
SUMMARY:
Conduct analytical studies on engineering proposals to develop design for oilfield-related products. Coordinate projects with Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing departments in design or redesign applications and to ensure conformity to Engineering drawings. Produce solid models and participate in lab test work; perform fine element analysis (FEA) and provide on-site support to oversee successful product application.
¿ Analyze research data and proposed product specifications submitted by customers and/or sales staff in order to determine the feasibility of the product proposal.
¿ Prepare or direct the preparation of product or system layout to include all necessary detailed drawings, schematics or modeling's.
¿ Produce solid modeling's to present to clients or internal staff in preparation for manufacture of product.
¿ Perform fine element analysis (FEA).
¿ Coordinate the manufacturing process of the product or prototype to ensure conformity to Engineering drawings and to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.
¿ Participate in lab testing and/or field testing as required; analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets client or other internal specifications.
¿ Determine and act upon any design modifications or redesign of existing products.
¿ Evaluate Engineering Change Notices (ECN's) and Product Changes as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years industry experience in a downhole tools & oilfield equipment preferred.
Competent in the use of SolidWorks
EXTRA INFO:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering is required.
