THE ROLE
CCL has been requested by a leading international oil and gas contractor to source a Structural Engineer for its offices in Houston. Client would prefer candidates based in Houston / within traveling distance. Support Engineering Supervisor / Lead Engineer in Structural Group to develop structural modeling. Rate will be based on experience / market / skill set. This vacancy is being handled by CCLs Houston office.
THE PERSON
Minimum of 5 years experience. Apply knowledge of structural design, materials, design definition principles, and regulatory / qualification environment to create structural designs of products. Ability to evaluate designs / performance, structural adequacy, cost effectiveness and regulatory compliance. Maintains timeliness and accuracy of oral and written technical reports. Maintains proper engineering files and records. Prepares documentation, information, communications, engineering specifications and ensures conformance to all policies and procedures. Anticipates potential problems and takes preventative actions. Consults with other departments. Identifies root cause of problems. Develops alternative solutions. Assists and checks work of Drafters / Designers. Performs other engineering related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
BS in Structural Engineering. Must be self motivated. Must have clear understanding of Structural Engineering practices, design methods and calculations. Must be experienced in software packages including Pro-E and ANSYS. Some exposure to SACS is a plus. Uses CAD / CAM & Structural Analysis programs to make layouts and analyze designs. Fluent written and spoken English. US citizens, residents or Green Card holders only.
