Production Engineer (Offshore Deepwater) Gulf of Mexico
Our industry major client has an immediate need for a Production Engineer to join their Gulf of Mexico production team. This role requires a degreed engineer with a PE or Chartered Engineer certification and a minimum of 8 - 10 years experience in the upstream oil & gas industry. Nodal analysis experience using Prosper modelling, and experience with Choke Model and uptime analysis are also required. Our client is offering an outstanding total compensation package that includes a base salary to $180k or higher depending upon experience, annual bonus in excess of 30%, sign-on bonus, 401k plan with matching, retirement plan, and more. Full relocation package to Houston. Please review the detailed description below.
Responsibilities:
The Production Engineer will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment responsible for the development of the company's Gulf of Mexico assets. The main responsibilities will be to:
Collect and review production and well test data; Collect and communicate uptime analysis for company asset
Participate in well planning and completions planning teams and provide advice on well locations and data collection
Monitor well and reservoir performance and provide individual well and field level production forecasts. Build production opportunities for company project areas.
Provide short term production forecasts for marketing group
Lead the monthly production planning meeting to support monthly forecasts
Draft necessary documentation for appropriate regulatory submittals to the MMS.
Write procedures to collect various surface and subsurface tests such as well testing, logging and PBU.
Help communicate the team's technical results, conclusions and recommendations to joint venture partners and company staff in both formal and informal forums.
Build a production optimization process for company assets.
Provide input, coordinate, and occasionally conduct annual well reviews.
Advise and mentor more junior production engineers within the GOM PU subsurface engineering team.
Manage Well Integrity for company assets
Promote and maintain production engineering expertise through liaison and networking throughout the Petroleum CSG and via the Production Technology Manager and Chiefs
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering with accreditation by a recognized body (e.g. Professional Engineer/Chartered).
Must be qualified to work in the US without restrictions.
Experience & Technical Competencies:
8-10+ years experience in the oil and gas industry. To include expertise in:
Interventions such as coil tubing, electric line logging, slickline, perforating and cementing.
MMS regulatory requirements
Must have nodal analysis experience with Prosper modeling. Competent with Excel spreadsheets. Direct experience with OFM, and Petex software are desirable.
Must have experience with Choke Model and uptime analysis
Must have experience with well test analysis and transient analysis
Production Forecasting with decline curve analysis
Experience with Flow Assurance, i.e. hydrate paraffin and asphaltene prediction and mitigation
Well Integrity
