Electrical Engineer - 6 Month Contract Houston, TX, USA
Aerotek Energy Services is seeking an Electrical Power System Engineer for our oil & gas client here in Houston, TX. This position is a 6 month contract position.
Our client is a leader in the development and supply of Single-Point Mooring (SPM) systems, and is engaged in research involving new and improved tanker mooring systems and associated components. Projects range from preliminary design studies to major engineering, fabrication, and procurement projects that include installation and commission.
Our clients Products and Services include the following:
Floating production systems for FSOs and FPSOs including:
Permanent and disconnectable internal turret moorings
External turret moorings
Spread moorings
Marine import/export terminals (CALM and SALM buoys)
Riser systems
Swivel systems
Control and service buoys
LNG transfer systems
KIT (Keel Integrated Transfer) systems
Requirements for Electrical Engineer:
-Apply fundamental electrical engineering principals to a variety of engineering assignments involved in the planning and designing of our clients equipment, process systems and installation documentation
BS in Engineering.
-Must have understanding of Engineering practices, design methods and calculations.
-Knowledge of FPSO or Marine Electrical and Process Instrumentation systems and procedures or work experience in a similar environment
-8 to 10, or more, years of experience in Electrical and Instrumentation system design field.
-Works as part of a project team with more experienced Engineers.
-Works is review by more experienced Engineers
-Thorough knowledge of Motor Control Centers design, switchboard design, Electrical Load analysis, Voltage Drop analysis, Short Circuit design, Lighting system design.
-No supervisory responsibility
Major Responsibility Areas:
-Applies knowledge of fundamental concepts and uses established procedures to make layouts, analyze designs.
-Learns our clients design practices, systems and procedures.
-Self-motivated, detail oriented engineer with organizational skills.
-Achieve performance goals and continuous drive for improvement
-Software experience in the use of AutoCAD, e-Matrix, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access
-Responsible for working with drafting to prepare one line diagrams
-Responsible for working with drafting to prepare hazardous classification drawings.
-Assists with the work of and performs engineering checks on the work of drafters and designers.
-Writes technical specifications and performs technical bid evaluation.
-Detail instrumentation engineering, P&ID review and mark-ups.
-Create instrument data sheets for purchase specifications by learning and using INtools instrumentation database software
-Attend instrument system interface meetings and take detailed notes
-Assist in transfer of purchasing information to procurement
-Technical Coordination, multi-Discipline Liaison, Detail Engineer
-Consults with other departments, suppliers, certifying authorities on equipment designs, problems or questions
-Coordinates design, construction and procurement of low voltage and medium voltage distribution systems including motor control

BS IN ELECTRCIAL ENGINEERING
KNOWLEDGE OF FPSO OR MARINE ELECTRCIAL & PROCESS INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEMS
8-10+YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN ELECTRCIAL & INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM DESIGN FIELD
