Geologist needed for a full-time employment position with a large oil and gas company in Bakersfield, CA. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in geology and a minimum of 10 years experience in petroleum exploration and developmental geology. The primary objective is to identify additional development and exploration opportunities, and improve recovery from existing productive reservoirs. Requirements include experience in planning, completing, and reworking well operations; a strong understanding of depositional environments and facies; experience with EOR projects and reservoir surveillance and optimization in commingled reservoirs; proficient in reservoir description and core data analysis; and reservoir characterization, including input to reservoir simulation models. Additional requirements include a strong understanding of industry economic and financial drivers, experience in integration of geologic, geophysical, engineering and production data, and geographic experience working in the San Joaquin Valley. Software requirements include proficiency in Landmark Dynamic Surveillance system, OpenWorks, and StratWorks.
