Description: This position will report to the Exploration Manager in Indonesia and will be located in Jakarta. The position will focus on new venture exploration opportunities in Southeast Asia, primarily in Indonesia. The successful candidate will analyze subsurface information to generate new plays and prospects. Skill set includes regional basin framework analysis, structural mapping, seismic interpretation, seismic and sequence stratigraphy, and basin risk analysis. The position will involve close teamwork with other Geoscientists, Engineers, Business Developers, and Commercial Negotiators. Responsibilities: -Compile geologic, geophysical, and commercial information to build regional new ventures framework. -Monitor and analyze industry activity in targeted areas and recommend appropriate actions. Recommend action on farmout and new play opportunities. -Creative and technically sound integration of variable datasets to identify opportunities -Screen Bid Rounds and farmin opportunities and make recommendations to management regarding blocks to access for full technical and commercial evaluations. -Seismic interpretation, in-house and dataroom setting. -Generate and evaluate new prospect and play opportunities using local and regional data. -Make recommendations for drillable plays and prospects, risk and resource analysis. -Organize and participate in peer reviews for resource estimates and prospect rank. -Interface with all necessary internal groups and organizations to apply best practices to opportunity recommendations. -Clearly communicate and document project results and recommendations. -Establish and maintain professional relationships within industry and with other organizations and individuals to expand professional knowledge and develop useful contacts. -Mentor and develop less experienced staff. Qualifications: -Work Experience: Minimum 8-10 years experience in geology or geophysics field, in Oil & Gas Industry -Degree: Masters Required Major: Geology or Geophysics -Computer Proficiencies: Intermediate PC skills are required in Microsoft desktop suites.
